“The laundry is much cleaner and softer.
We don’t even need to use fabric conditioner anymore.”

WHY DID YOU ADOPT AN ECO APPROACH?
I started using the services of EYS in 2013 as the yacht I started working on then was very aware of the pollution yachts can cause. I strongly believe that every contribution we can make will help, no matter how small. I changed yachts a couple of times since then and in every job interview, I always mention that I use the products from EYS. So far, every captain / yacht owner has been happy for me to continue using EYS.

WHAT WAS THE BEST CHANGE YOU MADE?
I had always been using the Hakalan liquid laundry detergent from Hakawerk. It is a great product, but after attending one of Sheila’s workshops and learning more about how laundry products work, I changed over to powder from Hakalan and it has been the best change ever. The laundry is much cleaner and softer. We don’t even need to use fabric conditioner anymore.

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL FOR THE FUTURE?
My goal for the future is to continue spreading environmental awareness to all the crew members onboard.  It has always been easy for interior and galley, however, the deck department always seems to hold on to the products they know. It’s time to change that!
